A swimsuit is one of the most revealing garments that you are likely to wear in
public. It?s no wonder, then, that so many of us worry about wearing swimwear on
holiday ? but fear not, there are many flattering swimwear choices this
season!
Swimwear is about two things: choosing the right costume for your
shape and level of comfort. When you wear a swimsuit that suits you, then the
confidence will follow as you will know that you look and feel your best in it.
There is plenty of plus size
swimwear available to accommodate all body shapes; the key is choosing the
right type for you. Here are our favourite tips for choosing plus size swimwear
that you?ll love to relax in.
Identify your best assets and pick swimwear
that shows them off. At the same time, if there are areas of your body that you
are less happy with, then select swimwear that disguises them.
If your
bust needs some support, then choose a swimsuit with wider straps rather than a
strapless bandeau top. Moulded cups will provide you with the extra support you
need. If you carry weight around your tummy, look for plus size swimwear that
provides extra tummy control for support.
Many of us are worried about
the tops of our arms. Kaftans are the perfect solution and most are in sheer
materials, providing the coverage you need while keeping you cool and stylish.
If you?re self-conscious about your tummy, try out some stylish ladies slips or
sarongs. These add an elegant airiness to your poolside outfit as well as
covering up any ?wobbly bits?. Wearing a sarong or kaftan helps to divert
attention away from any problem areas whilst giving you a unique and attractive
outfit to enjoy.
Sarongs are actually very versatile. Apart from the two
uses we have already mentioned, there are many ways to wear your sarong. You can
wear it as a halterneck cover-up, as a long skirt or tied over the bust at the
front or the side.
Accessorising can make all the difference: the right
sunglasses, jewellery, hat or sandals can transform your swimsuit into a
glamorous outfit.
Picking the right colour is key. Ladies? swimwear looks
most elegant and flattering in darker colours. If you want to inject some
colour, choose wisely to draw attention to the area you want to emphasise. Pear
shapes for example should choose swimwear with the bottom half in a darker
colour, and a patterned top.
Remember that plus size swimwear is often
designed to give you a helping hand. The designs are created with the fuller
figure in mind, and that can help to give you extra confidence alone. Look out
for costumes that offer extra support for the bust or the tummy area.
